FFS (Föreningen för Samhällsplanering/ Föreningen för Samhällsplanering) is an open non-profit association run for and by planners. FFS has a wide perspective of (spatial) planning, from very local level to regional planning and even national sector planning.
FFS has about 1100 member from all over the country and regional chapters in five urban regions. The members are mainly practicing planners and some students. PLAN, the Swedish Journal of Planning, is published by FFS, FFS role in SPECIAL will be delivered by Association members.
The objective is to develop knowledge and skills among our members and other planners and urban professionals in the public and private sector, in order to integrate sustainable energy issues in spatial planning and integrate a spatial perspective in local and regional energy and sustainability strategies.
The Gothenburg Region Association of Local Authorities (GR)
GR is a co-operative organisation uniting thirteen municipalities in western Sweden with a total population of 927.000. The task of GR is to promote co-operation over municipal borders and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experience within the region. GR focuses on such issues as: regional planning, environment, traffic, job market, welfare and social services, competence development, education, and research.
The County Administrative Board of Västra Götaland
The County Administrative Board is the representative of the (national) Government in the region (county) and the coordinating body for State activities in the county.
The Stockholm County Council, planning department (TMR)
Stockholm County Council’s mandate is to ensure that its residents have access to healthcare and public transport as well as preventing health problems. Important elements of the County Council's operation are long-term traffic planning, regional growth and development, to make culture accessible to all of its residents and environmental issues.
KTH – The Royal Institute of Technology, Department of Urban Planning and Environment
The department is conduction research and professional development projects concerning sustainable urban planning and development processes, including the connection between sustainable energy and urban planning.
The Swedish Energy Agency operates in various sectors of society to create conditions for an efficient and sustainable energy use and a cost-effective Swedish energy supply. Powering the future: New European project to build UK planners’ renewable energy skills
Leading housing and planning charity, the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) is about to begin its most ambitious European project to date. SPECIAL (Spatial Planning & Energy for Communities in All Landscapes) will seek to build the capacity of planners and other built environment professionals in delivering local renewable energy solutions over the next three years.
